Extend the "life" of your perfume

There is probably no woman who doesn’t like to put her beautiful and expensive perfume bottles in a place where they will be easily accessible for her. But, most often, that place is not the best place to keep perfumes.

Besides having a lifetime, perfumes are also “vulnerable” to some external influences. Here are some tips how to extend the "life" of your perfume, with proper safekeeping.

Warm and cold

Wrong temperature is a serious enemy of perfumes. It would be perfect if you could keep them on a temperature up to 22 degrees Celsius. Don’t ever keep them in the fridge, because the temperatures there are too low. At low temperatures, oil or other chemical compounds that are found in perfumes are starting to change their structure. One of the worst places where you can keep your perfume is the bathroom. The biggest changes in air temperature and humidity are occurring there.

Light

Artificial and natural light are also great enemies of perfume. Light causes a chemical reaction in the perfume just after a few hours of exposure to light. It would be best to keep the bottle of perfume in a dark place, for example in the original box, closet or some other dark place.

Air and humidity

Most of today’s perfumes have a sprayer, which facilitates the application, but also minimizes the access of air. However, some perfumes are not in a spray bottle, and every time you want to use it, you must open the bottle, allowing air to enter. Unfortunately, in this case there is no help. You can transfer the perfume in a spray bottle, but these bottles often are not of good quality. The most important thing is to move them from wet rooms.

Lifetime

Some perfumes, even after exposure to external influences, can last for decades, while others, after a few months, begin to lose their original scent. Lifetime of today's average perfume is three years unless opened, between six and 18 months if it is open, and most women do not manage to spend it in that time. When you notice that your perfume has changed color or that it doesn’t have the same smell anymore, do not use it because it can cause skin irritation.
