Do you like this story?
Most people find inspiration for fashion and beauty trends in the world-renowned stars. Especially women. It is not uncommon thing for a woman to visit her hairdresser with a picture of an actress or a singer, and demand the same hairstyle.
Hairstyles have changed over the years and we had a chance to see all sorts of styles, but some will be remembered forever. These looks that caused a frenzy in their time, and some have never retired from fashion. Let's have look at the most popular hairstyles of all time...
1. Feathered hairstyle - Farrah Fawcett
The original "Charlie's Angels" and blonde Farrah Fawcett created a real stir among women during seventies. Round brushes and hair dryers were probably at the peak of their sales in those times. And, although it has been almost 40 years since then, this gradual luxuriant hair still has hordes of followers.
2. "Rachel" hairstyle - Jennifer Aniston
Speaking of gradual, clipped hair, we just can’t seem to get around the "Rachel" hairstyle that Jennifer Aniston presented in the popular series "Friends” during nineties." Since then, millions of women around the world have tried this hairstyle. Fifteen years later, this hairstyle is still in demand, making it one of the most popular of all time.
3. "Shag" hairstyle - Meg Ryan
Meg Ryan has made a career with roles of silly, but sweet and sexy girls - and they all had entangled "I just got up from bed and hated to comb" my hair. The main feature of "shag" hairstyles are fringe - long on the side and short in the middle, with the length of hair that is neither short nor long. Although it is present since the seventies, this hairstyle gained popularity only on the head of Meg Ryan, and hasn’t lost popularity since then.
4. Bob hairstyle - Anna Wintour
Bob is really one of the most popular hairstyles of all time and I mean the whole history of mankind. Even Cleopatra had this look.
Even today Bob is constantly "in", and if we're talking about people who’s character is shaped with this hairstyle - the first who comes in mind is Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American "Vogue" and the most powerful person in the fashion industry. She wears this hairstyle since she stepped into the spotlight because she knows that Bob is perfect for sophisticated and confident women.
5. Classic hairstyle - Princess Diana
During her short and tragic life, Lady Di has reached the peak of elegance. She was a fashion icon that everyone adored, including her trademark short full cut hair. This classic look was particularly popular in the nineties, among professional women.
6. Asymmetric pageboy style – Victoria Beckham
When Victoria left Spice Girls, she decided to work on herself. She lost the extra pounds (maybe too much), cut her hair and catapulted herself among fashion icons. Her asymmetrical hair became a big hit that was copied by both, "ordinary" women, and so many international stars.
7. The twisted ends hairstyle - Michelle Obama
Hairstyle with tips feathered on the outside is popular since the seventies. Then it was famous thanks to a cult actress Mary Tyler Moore. Since then this hairstyle has undergone minor modifications, and it returned the public attention with his wife of the U.S. President, Michelle Obama. Layered cut hair in a casual, yet elegant hairstyle, is really for all times.
8. Blue curls - Marilyn Monroe
In the whole history, no blond was so well known and popular as Marilyn Monroe. She maybe wasn’t the first with that color and hairstyle, but she definitely knew to wear it better than anyone else. If you have the courage to be such blonde, know that this style guarantees sex appeal.
9. "Pixie" hairstyle - Mia Farrow
When in 1968 Vidal Sassoon cut this extremely Mia Farrow’s hair for the film "Rosemary's Baby", thousands of women flocked to salons to get rid of excessive hair, and traditional standards of female beauty. Hot boyish haircut delighted fashion connoisseurs, but also inspires millions of women to this day.
10. Lush waves - Brigitte Bardot
Besides hot body with curves in the right places, Brigitte Bardot’s trademark was a long, thick and wavy blonde hair. She showed us how beautiful hair doesn’t have to be closely combed in a bun, or with smooth or strict curls. Even sex symbols of today know this - Megan Fox, Blake Lively, Cheryl Cole and Marisa Miller.
